network adaptor driver missing

Hi,
Have a DFI MB w/NIC built in (Realtek 8100) which
suddenly stopped working and has yellow asterik in device
manager.
I went to reinstall the driver, and DFI's website says it
is included with XP. I went to reinstall, picked network
adaptor, do not search...there are no built in network
adaptor drivers on the system any longer...the list is
blank and just says no drivers. Also it says the W2K
driver does not contain information on my hardware.
On my laptop, there is a whole list of built in NIC
drivers. Where are they stored in XP so I can transfer
the drivers list back to the desktop? BTW: A complete
repair from CD did not fix this either.
Any help would be great...thanks

Reload your Windows XP M/B drivers. The network adapter should be
reinstalled as a result!

Thanks for the reply.
The MB driver cd is a standard INTEL INF update, and states the NIC driver
is included with XP. The 2000 driver is on the CD , but XP says "there is no
information on your hardware" when i try to use it.
Where does XP keep it's driver information data base? I can copy what I need
from another PC. Otherwise I either have to install a PCI NIC or wipe it out
and reinstall XP.
