I have 2 computers on a network.
The desktop can see all shared folders and (files within them) on the
laptop. No problems.
The laptop CAN see all shared folders on the desktop but NOT files
within them.
Resultant message says that I might not have permission!
Ideas? tia
WinXP Home, all updates.
AMD 2.1 gb, ram 512 mb desktop and same laptop.
Desktop ethernet to DI524 router to cable modem.
Laptop wireless to same
No spyware, no virus, no other problems. Using AVG and Windows
Firewall and Spysweeper antispyware.
DI524 using WPA
File and printer sharing is on.
Folders in question have permissions on: share this folder on network
and allow users to change these files.
Same workgroup, different computer names. Changed workgroup and
computer names, no help.
This is a duplicate request for assistance, I originally posted to
this newsgroup, and then to comp.os. ms-windows networking.misc and to
comp.os. ms-windows.tcp-ip, no response yet. tia
