Netlogon error 5719 in Event System log

Alex Rybalov

I have this Netlogon error 5719 in Event System log:

"No Windows NT or Windows 2000 Domain Controller is
available for domain COVERS. The following error occurred:
There are currently no logon servers available to service
the logon", but I'm still able to login to domain accounts.

dcdiag is passing everything just fine on both DC.
The interesting thing, that some servers and workstations
are working fine, but some giving me this Netlogon error
5719 in Event System log. So far I didn't see any logic
why some of them have this error, and some don't... :(

Also I have problem on some servers with creating DFS -
I'm getting error "The RPC server is unavailable"

Please help.

Hi Alex,

Please run dcdiag and netdiag to get extended status report, next check your
DNS server, that you have all DNS srv records (double check with
%systemroot%\system32\config\netlogon.dns file). Next use nslookup against
those records so that you can verify that they are resolving properly.

In regards to the DFS issue, make sure the PDC Emulator is available. If you
have the support tools installed run Netdom query fsmo at a command line and
verify the PDC is up and running.

As Matjaz suggested, run the netdiag and dcdiag with the /v to text files
and post them for us to take a look at.

Sound like I fix it on two client servers by updating bios
ot them... Heh... This is realy strange... Servers Dell
PE6650 (4CPUxZeon1900Mz, 8Gb memory...). Version of bios
was 09 now 12. I will check it again on monday. And I will
try to update bios on couple more servers on monday (Dell
PE1650) - I don't whant to do this remotely right now.
