Netgear Print Server on Vista

I have a Netgear Print Server, WGPS606. On XP I use the CD to connect to the
Print Server. It automatically adds a printer port. However when I try to use
it in Vista it trys try to add a printer port and then comes up asking for
the TCP/IP and the Port Name. So the Print Servers IP is 192.168.0.10. So I
put that in. Then for port name i put LPT1, and then it searches, but finds
nothing. This is all using the same CD as i use in XP. I tryed to add the
printer as a wireless printer through Vista but it still won't find anything.
Any suggestions???

Hi Ryan,
I don't have the same server as you but I had the same problem. What I did
was add local printer ,create a new port, when it asked for port name I put
in the port that my printer server CD created in XP for me it was
\\3P_PRINTSERV262\LP1
or LP2 or LP3 ( I have three printer attachecdto my server.) After that it
askes to load the print driver and creates the port. Hope this helps

I've been having the exact same problem as Ryan.. I have some close
contacts in Netgear Development and have reported the problem to them
having said that... I'm not holding my breath... for a resolution... you'll
notice that the last time a firmware update for the WGPS606 was release was
nearly 1 year ago..
and it doesn't support WPA2 (WPA AES) only WPA TKIP .. and no signs of an
update..

it wouldn't suprise me if the solution to this problem ... is a new product
release.. a Draft-N Print server.. ideally with a gigabit switch built
into it.. (but you didn't hear this from me :->)
start bugging Netgear support after Vista is offically released.. I like
this print server because it also acts as a Wireless bridge..
