netcfsetup.msi install error

I am trying to install the .NET Compact Framework 1.0 Redistributable
and it installs fine on my Windows XP system but when it tries to
install it on my Pocket PC Phone Edition 2002 Samsung i700 it claims
that it cannot find a compatible version. Any assistance will be
appreciated. I am trying to get the chess program loaded.

There was a bug back with the RTM version which would not recognise some
Phone Edition devices, AFAIK it was fixed with Service Pack 1 and onwards -
the latest version of the Redistributables is Service Pack 2 which you can
download from www.microsoft.com/downloads/

When you install the package on your PC it will install a number of cab
files, you can manually copy the correct one for your device which will be
called "netcf.core.ppc3.arm.cab" for a PPC 2002 device. You'll find this
file in the install folder C:\Progam Files\Microsoft .NET Compact Framework\
or similar.

Copy the file to your device using ActiveSync and tap the file in
FileExplorer on the device to install.
