netBIOS browsing & ping attacks..HELP

hi....... my antvirus (PC-cillin) keeps detecting ping
attacka and netBIOS browsing.... the later sounds
serious, is this something to worry about and how do i
stop this. its been goin on a few days now.HELP!! i do
have the firewall enabled
 
If you have the Ms Networking and FIle and Print Sharing
not check in the bindings for your outward facing interface
there is nothing you could be exposing through NetBIOS.
You are the one that should know what you have allowed
to go through your firewall, and it all depends on that
whether you should or should not have concern.

Generally, a completely tightened machine may be
constantly bombarded on its outward interface, and
there is really nothing one can do about it without
placing a fireway upstream.
