Hi all

I recently bought a micronet printserver that uses NetBeui Protocol to work,
well, i added the protocol con win2k machines with no problem, i want to do
that on a XP Professional and i see that is not supported (at least by
default) so i found this document:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;301041&sd=tech

That says how i can i enable netbeui under Windows XP Professional, well, i
do it, i could add the printer share but now the computer hangs everytime i
want to print, this is, show print dialog, properties, and everything
related, i know netbeui is causing the problem because i disabled it and now
everything works fine.

What can i do? do i need some tweak to netbeui protocol under XP ?

Please help me, i really need a solution for this.

Someone else can tell you how to install netbeui on XP but I'd
recommend looking to see if the gadget can do TCP-based printing (LPR
or IPP) and run without an added protocol. XP talks to LPR printers
very nicely, as does NT and w2k although the setup is different for
each (Thank you, Bill.) I've never screwed with IPP printing but
I expect it works well.

W98 can do it but requires hpjetadmin software, or the equivalent.
