Net View: Workgroup unavailable in Domain?

When I perform a net view command on any Windows XP workstation from within
my Windows 2003 Domain I get the following error message:

"System error 6118 has occurred.
The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently available"

I have read several articles pertaining to this error but none have remedied
the problem.

Thanks,

Firtsly, check your DNS settings. The AD depends critically on DNS.

Then check that you can ping the domain controller and the other
workstations, first by IP, then by name.

Also, try to establish a connection by means of the command:

NET USE H: \\SERVER\SHARENAME /PERSISTENT:NO

if this fails try

NET USE H: \\SERVER_IP\SHARENAME /PERSISTENT:NO

Where SERVER_IP is the IP address of the server. If the latter works but
the former doesn't it points towards DNS problems.

Firewall issues can also produce these symptoms.

Thanks Ian,

My DNS settings appear to be correct: I have my primary DC IP as the primary
DNS and the secondary DC IP as the secondary DNS.

Both net use commands worked.

XP Firewall and 2003 Firewall disabled.

Thanks
