Hi Everyone
We use the "net use lpt1 \\servername\sharename" command in our login scripts. However, it only seems to run correctly when the user is a local administrator of the workstation. We don't want to give everyone local administrator rights, so we are hoping that there is a policy that may be able to grant rights for this, but does not grant local admin rights. I've already enabled the load/unload driver right in AD, and have disabled the prevent users from installing printer drivers right. The end users are in the local power users group, and they are currently able to install printers using the add printer wizard. They are just unable to attach a printer to the lpt1 port using the command line. The workstations are running Windows XP and the DCs are running Windows 2000. Does anybody know what I am missing on this? Thanks for any help you can provide
