Hi at all.
I have connected 3 PCs that have XP Home Edition to a router/hub in a net.
The router has address 10.0.0.2/ 24 and the three PCs have .3, .4 and .5/ 24.
The follow services are active: TCP/ IP, netclient, share files and printers
and QOS.
All the 3 PCs are seen and share the resources. The problem is: if the
PCs .3 and .4 go simultaneous there are a lot of ritrasmissions
(also to ICMP level p.e. Ping) decelerating the net.
But if the PCs .3 or .4 run with .5 there aren't any problem.
The problem there is when the PCs .3 and .4 run together only.
The 3 PCs have different names.
I have checked and proven also to replace cables and netcards and
change the connection of the PC on the router doors but anything changed.

Anybody can explain to me where is the problem?

Thank you.

Best wishes.

Tiziano,

one guess would be a combination of bad or long cables, using a
hub, rather than a switch, poorly designed network adapters and
the like.

First thing I'd try is to borrow a switch and put it between the
problem computers and the router.
