.net framework v2 trouble

P

Peter

I have two applications whose UI's depend on .net framework for their
functionality.
Recently they have started to freeze on me. They will work for a few
moments and then freeze. Sometimes I can restore functionality by
maximising them, but it only lasts for a moment.
I thought it was the latest McAfee protection which has caused problems for
many, but not myself...yet. I uninstalled it and the problem still
existed.
I also uninstalled/reinstalled .net.
So I guess my question is...what interferes with the functionality of .net?

This is probably issues more with the applications then .NET. Have you
tried them on another machine or contacted the author?

Yes, in both instances, and noone seems to know what to do.

P.S. I don't have another machine to try them on, but I have them installed
in both my XP partitions and they act the same way in both. No other
applications are displaying that behaviour.

Have you checked to see if the apps have written anything into the
event viewer? Do they output any type of debug log file that can be
analyzed?

If the authors are unwilling to help and you don't know how to debug
the apps using Visual Studio, it's best to move on.

Hi,
I'm replying from Vista so can't access them at the moment but I can say
that there is nothing in ther Event Viewer. The writers of the 2
applications are vaffled and can't even suggest a remedy.
I'm not familiar with Visual Studio unfortunately.
I guess I'm going to have to live with it.
