.Net Framework 1.1 SP1 will not install. Any suggestions?

I've tried to install .Net Framework 1.1 SP1 several times (in XP Pro SP2),
with anti-virus on and off, firewall on and off, but it fails everytime
accross a 2 pc network. It has installed individually on a Pentium 2, but
wont on a Pentium 4. Both machines run XP Pro with SP2.

This is OT for this ng. You may wish to try the .Net or Windows NGs
