.NET Framework 1.1 SP 1 does not install

When I try to install .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 it starts installing then
eventually comes up with a dialog box which says it cannot install because
there is a hotfix installed and I must remove the hotfix first. OK, so how do
I find the hotfix? I have never directly installed a hotfix for .NET
Framework 1.1, but of course one might have come along with some product I
installed.
 
Can someone post a quick and easy solution please!

I have the same problem, but am not aware that I've installed the SDK
documentation update - it doesn't show in Control Panel. Anyone got a
solution?
