Can they both be installed at the same time on XP Home (SP2)?

I just read at the Microsoft Download site that you should not install both.
There is (or they are working on it) a patch that would meld the two, so you
should go and look it up before messing something up.

: Some programs use 1.1 and others use 2.0 so both can be installed if you
: want.

I saw nothing at the d/l site that says both should not be installed!

Please provide a link to what you read.

Thanks

I'm running both versions (and their respective update patches) on my XP
SP2 machine with no problems. I've been told that 1.1 performs a
different function than 2.0 and to leave both installed. But that's all
I know about the subject.

Some programs use one version, others use the other version. There does not
appear to be much use of either version at this point. I un-installed
version 2 a few months ago and it has never been required.
