Hi there,

Could some one please explain the difference, importance bewteen Net Frame
work 1.1 & 2.0?

Does one really need to install either of the one?

As an end user using XP Pro SP2, which one would suit more technically.

Regards,

TIA.

They are incremental so you need to start with 1.1 before installing the
latest version.

Hope this helps.

The .net framework is a runtime file needed to run programs written with
..net. It's roughly analogous to the old vbrunXXX.dll files needed to run
programs written in Visual Basic.

Because .net is relatively new, there aren't yet a lot of programs that use
it. A few months ago I had none. Today I have three. Even if you don't run
any of these programs now, it's likely that you will soon, so my
recommendation is that you might as well get this, so it will be there when
you need it.

Note that some programs need 1.1 and others need 2.0, so it's best to
install *both*.
