Are there any good books on VB.NET from the point of view
of a beginner?

The VB.NET core reference by Franseco Balena is a must
have. Coding Techniquest for Visual Basic .NET by John
Connell is another wonderful resource. The ADO.NET Core
Reference by David Sceppa is one more that you can't live
without.

All of them are great books and while they assume some
programming experience, I think newcomers to .NET as well
as advanced programmers can find a lot of help in them.

Good Luck,

Bill
