.net 3.5 added a new folder in my c: root directory

I recently added latest .net 3.5 upgrades and s.packs. I notice a new folder
in my root directory named a28f4fff21f47b966f9ea with sub-directories amd64
and i386. Is it necessary to keep this/these directories. They do contain
some dll's and inf files etc....?

The folder can be safely deleted.

It contains temporary files/folders that were
not automatically deleted by the .NET installer.

It's a known problem when installing .NET 3.5 SP1.
