Nested subtotals not working properly in Excel 2003

I am trying to do a nested subtotal. The inner level of the subtotal is
appearing below the outer level subtotal on some (but not all of the lines).
I have tried this task on 2 different machines (both with Excel 2003) and
have the same error.

Any suggestions?

I don't have a suggestion but I'm having this same problem. In our office,
this is only happening with SP2. I have SP1 and it doesn't do this. Seems
like a problem that was created in SP2.

I just remembered why my SP1 works and the SP2 doesn't work. There's a KB
#831824 that describes how to fix this problem. You need to add an entry
into the REGISTRY. Once you do that, your nested subtotals problem will be
fixed. I just did that to our PC with the SP2 - the nested subtotals problem
went away after I fixed the registry. Check the KB831824. I'm sure it will
solve your problem too.
