I would like to find out if anyone knows about Negative Conditional
Formatting for Excel 2003 using WindowsXP . A formula to prevent
Conditional Formatting to occur in a cell, or multiple cells, unless there is
a Letter or Character in the cell.
No Character--- Conditional Formatting will not apply.

Unless I have misunderstood then you shouldn't need to do anything to achieve
your goal. If you have correctly set the criteria for conditional formatting
then it will only occur when you want it to.

Thank you for your answer, I still need to explain it a bit more as I have
worked out the answer, I do want to find out if it has been done by Microsoft.
I can set up the Criteria for Conditional Formatting which will work fine by
putting a colour in the cell, But by putting a Negative Conditional Formula
inthe same cell, I can prevent the colour format from showing up in the
cell even though the format is correct. It can be used for Desired
Coincidence Detection. I hope this explains it a bit better. Cheers 16 -
