Now I know why you've been *itching about DRM in another post. You,
and others like you, are the very reason WHY functions such as DRM and
Activation exist, and why software prices have gone through the roof
lately.

Oh good lord.

No, "people like me", who actually work in the real world with Vista and
other systems on a regular basis, who constantly have to deal with the
short comings of any system. It does nto help to try to shield people
from the truth as you and "people like you" are bent on doing.

You have it all backwards my friend. If the DRM wasn't there, or was
done in a much for fair manner, piracy would not be so high and people
would be more willing to go the legit route when they, as paying
customers, are not being treated like criminals.

I'm not trying to shield anyone from anything, as everyone is entitled
to their own opinion, whether they agree with me or not. Maybe if I
rephrase myself:

The very reason why systems such as WGA and DRM exist is because of
people like you, who would condone piracy, in whatever form it takes.
You yourself said it:

Whether it's for a friend you trust or for mass-distribution on the
black market, whichever you look at it, it stays piracy. Pure and
simple. And for as long as people "do favours for their friends", then
systems like WGA and DRM will remain a part of the business.

Ironic. No-one complains about the copy-protection systems of the Games
discs?

As I've said before. DRM as never made me feel like a criminal. I don't
even realize its there. How much more fair can it get???

-Tell you what. The next time you invest a couple billion $ in a
project, I want to to make it dead easy for every Tom, Dick and Harry to
copy it (whatever it is) without your knowledge, eating into your
profits. Let's see what you say about the need for protection systems
like WGA and DRM.-

So how do you explain the fact that pre XP Windows garnered BILLIONS for
MS and created some of the RICHEST men in the world? According to your
"logic", piracy Should have killed Windows before Win 98 ever came out.
The TRUTH of the matter is most people are honest and the "anti piracy"
crap is based on greed and MS wanting to control their customers.

You yourself said it:

I never conduned piracy. I never said I assist in installing *pirated*
versions. I nfact, I would only ever "remove" the activation machnaism
on a *GENUINE* paid for version. This is akin scaping off dirt from the
bottom of your new car.

And I'll say it again, you have it backwards; it's *BECAUSE* of these
sorts of DRM that people like myself sometimes take these steps, to
ensure our fair use.

And for the recoard, I rarely do that kind of person service for anyone
else. For the most part I reserve that for my own systems, and
occasionally for people I know who are fed up with being treated like a
criminal when they are paying customers.

Very mature. He actually happens to be correct of many things he posts.
A lot of it is what's alreayd been said and proven; I've seen article
after afrticle of these sort of things in many publications and
journels.
He's a punk who could'nt figure out how to crack something and is
trolling to vent.

I didn't see anything about "cracking" (or the inability thereof.) In
any case that wasn't what the thread was about in any way. Seems you art
now just fabricating more false hoods to detract away from the real
problems that exists in Vista.
And as far as DRM and Vista are concerned, its never been an issue
here.

Another utter falsehood right there. DRM has been a huge issue with
Vista before it was ever released.

But doesn't that introduce the possibility that someone will abuse
this "personal service" that you "sometimes" perform, and make an
illegal copy?

Not really. Not when I limit that sort of thing to family and close
friends. I'm sure you've never done favors for those closest to you that
you would likely never do for others you do not know.

But either way, it's not my place to enforce legitimacy of someone
else's software. Nor is it yours.

Besides, think of it logically: if it was a pirated copy of Windows, the
activation would already be cracked, so it would be pointless to ask for
such a service in the first place.
