I need to upgrade my motherboard and I am looking for decent boar
that will match my components

My current board is a pcchips m927 with 1.7 pentium 4 socket 478
I'm finding hard to find a socket 478 board. I would like to use m
recently upgraded kingston ddr pc3200 512 chips. It is also a micr
atx size board with connectors for an atx power supply

I like the performance of the p4, and would like to keep the mone
that I would spend on a new processor in my pocket

Any reccomendations on a compatible board? Prefferibly not a pcchips

Thanks in advance for any help

You can search for motherboards here. Select S478 socket and search.

Stay away from the motherboards with 865GV - no AGP slot!

I see a P4P800-E Deluxe and a P4P800SE, but they are full sized ATX.
Otherwise, those would be nice motherboards.

This one is a MicroATX and it has an AGP slot. It is _not_ an
overclocking motherboard. You should have voltage adjustments
for that. (The P4P800-VM would be good, but it is out of stock.)

Anyway, there are motherboards still left, but there is also
a lot of junk around (as you say PCchips and the like, 865GV
boards with no AGP slot). Shop carefully...

Hi,
The MoBo that I'm looking at, which is a 478 pin MoBo is the Asrock
P4VM800, here in the uk is priced at a very good £28.72 inc VAT from
www.ebuyer.com supports pentium 4 & Celeron processors as the FSB is
800/533/400 Mhz.
also supports P4 prescott CPU, which is a good thing.
also will take the memory that you have too.
Like most mATX boards, has onboard sound/graphics, but also has an 8X
AGP slot too.
Hope this helps.
