need to tab from form line to next

I am updating an old form and have been unable to tab from one content line
to the next in Word 2007 with Vista:

Date
Name
Address 1
Address 2
City, State, Zip.

I tried Alt-F9 and got a window describing the lighting situation, not
instructions for graying out the information.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can only tab between form fields if the document is protected for forms.
The forms tools are on the developer ribbon which is not displayed by
default (Word Options > Popular).

Alt+F9 toggles the display between field construction and content. If yours
does something else either you have a dual function F keys and you have the
wrong function selected, you have reassigned the function to something else
less useful, or you have some third party software that is taking precedence
.... whichever it turns out to be it needs fixing if you are going to work
with fields.
