Need to slow down to USB 1.1 - how?

Don't ask me why, but my iPod will only sync to my computer at a USB 1.1
setting. SO, when I need to sync (not all that often), I need to back off all
my USB ports to 1.1

Could someone tell me how to do this, and how to switch back to 2.0 when I'm
done?

I'm sure there's a workaround with the damn apple, but it's not worth it...

Thanks, and happy new year!

Paul

How exactly do you "Back Off" all ports to USB-1(.1) ? from a
BIOS setting to disabled High Speed >?

Likely it's either a Hub power consumption or Bandwidth issue
with the USB 2 Enhanced Controller/Root hubs.

You might want to check with the iPod attached:
-Device Manager, Universal Serial Bus
-Enhanced Controller, Advanced - Bandwidth
-Root Hub (Probably last one listed), Power (TAB)
Check total used (Max of 500mA)

Some devices, especially Composite USB consume large amounts
of USB resources.

Thanks, but I don't need to know why. I need to know how to make my USB ports
run as 1.1 instead of 2.0.

PLEASE don't tell me what's wrong; I've been through that a hundred times
with apple. I just need to know how to change my ports (temporarily) to 1.1

Thanks for trying.

A rebuff isn't a good way to get additional help, Anyway unless your
BIOS has a operational mode setting ( High or Full ) the only way
to turn off USB 2.0 is to "DISABLE" the Enhanced controller in the
Device Manager Universal Serial Bus Category. Right Click the entry
and then Left Click disable.
My original intent was not to help you implement a "Workaround",
but simply fix the iPod synchronization.

Your reply just cemented a NO answer for your issue from others. R Mc 's answer was correct and proper for your issue.

If a 2.0 port is connected to a 1.1 device, the port runs as 1.1

If you can't figure out how to back off your 2.0 ports to 1.1 then how do
you know the iPod will work at 1.1
