need recommendation for alternatives to native screen magnifier

Folks:

I'm supporting an elderly neighbor who uses WinXP Home to access email
through a webmail interface. Her vision is so bad that she holds up a
magnifying glass to see her LCD screen that's already set to display large
characters.

I have tried XP's native magnifying tool and she finds it too difficult to
use.

Can anyone recommend a magnifying solution that is optimized for elderly
people, or any other beside the native XP magnifier? Or send me to a
relevant website?

Thanks very much,

Henry

Mary Sauer:

Thanks for your post on this thread:

Nope, but I'll try that out and see if it looks appropriate for her.
This may be helpful as well, there are free downloads here.

In your original post, the word "This" was a link, but it didn't lead to a
valid page.

Right, I found lots of possible solutions here, but ... maybe too many.
I've sent an email to the guy who runs the site asking for recommendations
for this particular case, which involves both visual impairment and
cognitive/integrative difficulties.

I'll probably offer a number of solutions to my elderly friend and see which
one works best for her.

Thanks for your help!

Henry
