Can't start win xp, not in safe mode either, can't even get to recovery
console, can't run checkdsk, no repair or new-install possible. Always get
to the bluescreen with the stop msg.
I followed all the advice in MS KB articles, including removing all devices
one by one, nothing changed. Then I removed harddrive and built into another
comp with XP pro (not forgetting to set jumper to "slave"). There I first
ran the respective harddrive diag-tool, it congratulated me to have a
certified, error-free harddisk! Then I started XP pro and guess what: same
problem, now even the second comp delivers the stop error with same 0x24
ntfs.sys message. What's wrong!!?? Please help!
Ah yes - another piece of info: when I hit F8 and choose save mode I get the
black screen and can see lots of drivers loading, but after say 5 seconds
the process halts with a blinking cursor at the top left for another few
seconds, then the system reboots...but only to the next boot-menu where I
can choose safe mode.......
