Need Opinions

I recently started a new IT job, and i am going to be the "Access guy" we
have a program that my boss wrote in SQL basically he wants me to do queuries
and he wants me to be able to do more than just simple queuries, i am
currently reading dummies for access 2007, does anyone have opinions about
books or anything on how to learn access?

"doing queries" and "learning Access" are two marginally-related topics.
Access is a lot more than a simple query (and reporting) tool, though it
does that quite well.

Are you going to need to create user-friendly (?!user-proof?!) applications?
If so, the rather steep learning curve of Access may be in your future!

Are you going to simply be querying already established data structures? If
so, focus in on queries and SQL.

The Dummies books are pretty good... for people learning to use existing
Access applications. They'll get you from A to B; but if you need to get up
through X, Y and Z in terms of creating databases, writing queries,
implementing user-friendly forms and so on, they'll leave you stuck!
