Need newsletter software for Windows

I would like to setup a kind of newsletter software under WinXP.

It should be able to manage a couple of email adresses and to send an email to
each of the email addresses on the list by SMTP.

In other words it should NOT concatenate/paste all email adresses to the "TO:" field of ONE email
but send individual emails with only one receiver in one email.

It need not to be a full mailing list software. So answers from the contacted members on the
list should not be handled by the mailing software.

Is there such a newsletter software available?

I can't answer your question regarding the software; mailing list
software I'm familiar with is Mailman or Majordomo, but I don't know if
they run on Windows. What you should consider is how many recipients
are going to be on the list and whether your ISP will allow you to send
to that many at one time. A lot of ISP's will limit the number of
recipients on one email as a spam-fighting measure. So if you want to
send to hundreds of people, you need to check that out first.

Some other ways to handle mailing lists:

If you have a website, the web hosting company may provide the ability
to set up a mailing list. Mine does, and that's how I send out a
mailing to clients. It makes it very easy and I don't have to run
Mailman locally. If you're going to do this mailing regularly, you
might want to look into something like this.

Maybe setting up a Yahoo Group would work for you instead of a mailing
list. It depends on what the purpose of your mailing is.

And in case you are considering using Outlook or OE, here is a list of
all the MS newsgroups so you can find the right group to post in:

A mail merge in Word using a list of e-mail addresses works just fine,
using Outlook to send the individual messages. I've got my e-mail
addresses in an Excel file, but they can be located elsewhere.
