Need more columns

I desperately need *more than the standard 256 columns* provided in a
Excel Worksheet. Working in transpose and utilising the much highe
number of rows available is not an option in this case.

hi,
256 is it i am afraid. not much you have do about it. If
it is a serious enough problem, i might suggest access.
 
Access tables has a 256 field limitation, so that would require some serious
reorganizing of data.
