Need hotfix KB828940, Dell no help

I need to get the hotfix for KB828940, a wireless
connectivity issue. Dell says to contact MS, and MS says
to contact Dell. Please help.....

Try this, call Microsoft and say you need to patch. Don't tell them you
have a Dell PC. Say it's a "homemade" PC upgraded from Windows 98. See
what they say then.

As the article states, you need to call Microsoft Product Support Services to
obtain it (outside the US, customers should contact their local Microsoft
subsidiary.). The support call will be be free as long as you refer to the
Knowledge Base Article number (Q828940) and ask for nothing more.

For WinXP:

In the wizard, Select WinXP, and Basic, and then "It was purchased separately"
