My system is very unstable, repeatedly hanging &
crashing. It all seems to be due to a driver which I
cannot identify. Error ID is 1005. Error is DCOM got
error "%%%1" attempting to start the service %2 with
arguments "$3" in order to run the server:%4. I think I
have isolated this to a file rpcss.dll in folder
C:\WINDOWS\system32 but cannot identify vendor. Any idea
how I can identify what is causing the instability so I
can deactivate or replace the driver? Running a Pentium 4
with 1 Gig DDRam, 2 80 Gig hard drives, Cable and 56.6
Voice modem. System worked fine for 6 months before this
happened.
