need help with wireless

I just got a new HP laptop and have been having serious wireless problems.
Here's the scoop:

Linksys WRT54G wireless router.
4 laptops and 1 desk top using router.
Desk top and 1 laptop plugged directly into router, other 3 laptops are
wireless.
2 Laptops have vista, other 3 computers have XP (didn't know if this could
be an issue because the 2 laptops that have vista also have ipv4 and ipv6
while all the XP computers have just ipv4)
My laptop is the issue - all other laptops can find, access, connect to, and
use the wireless. But once I connect with my laptop nobody can use web
browsers at all. The moment I disconnect with my laptop and turn the router
off and then on again, the web pages work. I can plug directly into the
router, as long as I have no wireless networks stored, and the network works
fine. At first I thought it was a problem with the ipv6 and ipv4 interaction,
but I've been told they don't interfere with each other. My dad just got a
new HP laptop as well with vista and ipv4 and ipv6 and his connects to the
wireless just fine and doesn't mess anything up. Then I started to compare
our laptops for the difference between the two that might be the reason mine
craps out the whole network - He has an intel a/b/g card and i have a
broadcom a/b/g card. I didn't know if this was some sort of factor as well.
I have tried all sorts of things and been to numerous sites and forums and
would GREATLY appreciation any help, comments, or suggestions as to what I
should try.

Thanks in advance!!

I would check if there is a new driver for the wireless NIC. Or this link may help,
