i am having trouble with a virus according to dell. when
i try to access any of my pics, documents, control
panel, etc i keep getting a message saying windows
explorer must close and to send a report to microsoft.
after that all the icons on my desk top dissappear along
with any programs that i am running at the bottom of the
screen. my background pic stays. then all the icons and
programs re-appear. i use macafee internet security suite
6.0 as my virus protection. when i run a virus scan it
comes up clean. i contacted dell and they had me re-
install windows xp saying maybe it was that. i am still
having the same problem after doing so. they told me it
is a software problem with microsoft. i will appreciate
any help or solutions any one has.

Hi

Run an online virus scan for a 'second opinion':

Failing that, try the following programs to check for any spyware that could
be on your system:

Ad-Aware - www.lavasoftusa.com
Spybot - http://www.safer-networking.org/
CWShredder - http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html

Try SpyWareBlaster to stop intrusions:
