Greetings All,
This is the 1st time I've seen this group and it looks like it will be
a lot of help to me. I really suck at networking :-(
I have 3 pc's networked to my Linksys wirelessly. Those are no
problem. I also have 1 via ethernet, that's my problem (this week).
Until recently, this connection worked great. Then all of a sudden I
can't get the wired one to show up on the network. I seem to remember a
message that it was using an invalid IP address. Does anyone know how I
can get this pc back up on the network??? Many thanks in advance, Mark

Having the exact error message would be most helpful. Also ask yourself The
First Question Of Troubleshooting: what changed between the time things
worked and the time they didn't?

1. Make sure the computer is completely virus/malware-free:
http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware

2. Do: Start>Run>cmd [enter]
ipconfig /all [enter]

Paste the information in your next post. We are particularly interested in
the IP addresses for the computer, the gateway, and DNS. Since you are
behind a router, your IP addresses will be private ones so it is safe to
post them. The DNS will either be the gateway or public and there is no
reason to hide them.

When I run ipconfig on the problem pc it shows the following:
Connection specific DNS suffix....domain_not_set.invalid
IP address 192.168.1.102
Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 192.168.1.1
