Need Help With 'My Computer'

I have tried everything and have no idea how to fix
this problem:

I have reformatted my drive, re-installed Windows XP
and so on.

But, for some wierd reason when I go to 'My Computer'
it can not find it. It just has the flash light moving
back and forth. but, after 5-6min it finally finds it. I
had the problem, re-formatted the drive and still the
same thing. Now, is that wierd or not?

So I have no idea what to do. It can find all the other
files right away, my documents, pictures etc no problems
at all. Just MY COMPUTER it takes forever to find it.

Any help would be sooooooooo much appreciated.

I fixed this problem by unplugging my Scanner and after rebooting plugged it
back in, it worked perfectly. This has worked for some, not others. Kelly's
Korner addresses this issue.

Remove the CD or the DVD from the drive. Then try again.
