Wish I cud spell

My HP PSC 2210 All-in-One has become unusable since I installed new
cartridges. When I try to print a MSWord document or a .jpg picture,
all I get are pages of what appear to be codings/commands.
How can I get the thing to print right again?

Thanks

Sounds to me like the print commands are being passed to the printer as
ASCII text, rather than commands. I can't imagine any way that simply
changing cartridges could cause that. Does the scanner still work
correctly? How about the copy functions? If not, the fault probably
rests inside the printer, and you might as well start looking for a
replacement. If they work OK, and assuming you're running Windows, try this:

Check hp.com to see if you have the latest driver. If not, download it.
Then, unplug the printer USB cable, uninstall the printer and driver
from Windows, and reboot. Then, re-install the driver, and plug in the
USB cable again. If that doesn't work, try a different USB cable and/or
a different USB port on the computer, although if the scanner is working
that's a long shot.
