The details log should tell you what those files are.

You may find it helpful to clean up temporary files and browser caches
before defragmenting.

Patrick,

Thank you very much for your valued help. I had 33GB of free space before
defragmenting and the file that could not be defragmented was an ATI mp2
video file of 11.78GB. After I deleted this file the defragmentation
continued OK with some minor exceptions which I shall look into. Would you
know whether certain category of files, be they video or very large, can't
be defragmented ?

Some files cannot be defragmented because they are either in use or for some
technical reason must be at their fixed location on the drive. Pagefiles
are on example.
Usually such files will be shown graphically wiht a certain color, or
listed somewhere in the program's display. Look there.
Unless the unmovable files themselves are fragmented badly, there is
nothing to worry about.
It takes a 3rd party program to defrag those files because it must be
done during the boot stage while the machine starts. Beware; some of those
programs can trash your drive; stay with reputable sources.
