Need Help with CD burner and XP

Hello,

I have dell computer with Windows XP Pro as OS. I am
having problems with my cd burner. I have samsung cd
writer & using easy cd creator to burn CD. I was able to
burn the CDs fine, but since last month or so (after
applying few patches to OS), I can't burn any more. When I
burn CDs, it doesn't give me any errors (it actually says
it completed successfully), but when I try reading the CD,
everything on CD is corrupted (characters in file name are
replaced with '?' or file can't be read). Did contact
Dell, and they think it's something to do with os or
softare. I have tried everything [upgrading writer
firmware, burner software (easy cd & nero), and running
sfc]. I am hoping someone can help me with this problem.

Thanks,
Zeepal

Try to download Nero from ahead.com. See if you can burn CD's that
don't get corrupted. If you can then I would suggest getting rid of
EZCD since it has been trouble for many people since XP was released.

You could also check in the Roxio website for any problems that others
have had with the software.

What version of Easy CD Creator have you installed?
You need at least version 5 or greater and with the latest patch
to 5.3.

In File, Project Properties, make sure the CD file system is Joliet
and 'Validate source files before burning' is enabled. Also use
Mode 2 (CDROM XA) is used.
