Hi Programatix,

Where are these WAV files coming from? Have you tried ripping an audio CD
to WAV format and playing one of those? WMP 11 does support ripping to WAV
so that would actually be a good test.

To set the format to Wav, click the lower half of the Rip tab (when you
hover you mouse over the Rip tab, you'll see a line in the lower third with a
small downward pointing arrow) click that lower portion and select Format
from the menu that appears and select WAV from the flyout menu.

Next insert an audio CD that you haven't ripped. When the track list
appears in the Rip pane, click the Rip button if ripping doesn't
automatically start.

When at least one track is finished ripping, you can click the Stop Rip
button, then go find that track in your media library and try playing it.

Actually, everything was working fine, except a movie with can play in any
other player except WMP. I checked everything on the file and found out that
VirtualDub uses the normal MP3 codec installed on my laptop.

Anyway, I goes on trying various CODEC (Lame MP3, AC3Filter, and so on).
Then, later uninstalled most of them except Lame MP3 and AC3Filter.

Now, when I tried to play any WAV files (which previously working), WMP just
open it, and sit there doing nothing. Clicking the play button change it to
pause button, but the "playing bar" does not even move.

Any idea?

Ok, found out the problem. Gee, I right click on all wav file and check the
properties. It turn out that WMP tries to use AC3Filter to play WAV file,
and I think AC3Filter is not working in Windows Vista. So, I removed it and
everything works fine now.
