need help to connect online

My computer was recently infected by virus. It shut down
Norton AntiVirus 2003 auto-protection. I manually use the
software find and delete the infected file. But the auto-
protection in Norton cannot set up. The worst thing is I
cannot connect online (through a router and cable
connection). In command line the ping command works. But
IE 6.0 cannot find any page even no the router IP. My
laptop works through the same router. Could somebody give
me some clues to fix the problem? Many Thanks.

Your winsock has become corrupt. Internet Explorer is
functioning correctly but your dns is squashed. To fix it
donwload this file and run it on the machine. It will
restore your winsock and you can begin on your way again.
