Need help setting up

Hi I really need help!!! I'm very frustrated.

got an hp laptop last winter with vista. Haven't used word 25x until now- it
wants a product key. I can't find this ANYWHERE! Don't really know where to
look... Called HP they won't help be because the warranty ran out. I can't
find a number to call Microsoft without pasying $50. I got a product key
from a "trial" product and copy pasted it and it worked.. but I still can't
type anything. It says the function is locked in the bottom left corner. This
program came on my computer and I can't even use it and I need it! Someone
please help me out and tell me what I am doing wrong and where I can get the
orginial product key! thanks!

Did you actually buy Word/Office or is it a trial?

Call HP and ask them where to look.

Go thru *everything* that came with your laptop. All of the paperwork that I
hope you kept.
