Need help setting up a home network...(pretty easy question)

I have a comp running Win XP Pro, a laptop running Win XP Home, and a
Linksys 4-port router supplying internet access to both of them. Can
somebody give me instructions (or a link) on how to set up a network between
these two comps, all I want to do is transfer files from the desktop to the
laptop...

I tried setting up a network through the wizard, but that did nothing...
