need help putting programs and files back on my pc after backing t

trying to put my programs and files back on my pc after backing them up and
doing a master reboot or reformating whatever you call it. i drag and drop
them but it wont work every time i click on it it just brings up the files .

can some one please help me

Programs need to be reinstalled from original media. The installation
makes changes to the registry. Only the very simplest will run by
copying the files.

Reinstall them. Most programs aren't stand alone and need registry entries,
dll's ...........

You can't just copy program folders. You have to reinstall the programs
from the installation media - either CD's or (in Spybot's case) from
the installer that you downloaded from the Internet.

Once again, with feeling: you have to install programs from the
installation media - either from physical CD's or with an installer
that you download from the Internet.

There is a place to get the dll's BUT you need more. There are the registry
entries as already said. You need BOTH.
BOTH are available. You get them, and you get them installed **properly** by
running the original program installation routine.
They MUST be installed PROPERLY or the programs WON'T work.

Spybot is freely available. Go to the spybot website, download the program,
install it. Hint: http://www.spybot.info/

I don't know what the other program is- whether it is freeware, shareware or
commercial. Whatever it is you need to get the program- if it is freeware
you can download it like spybot. If it is commercial use the install CD you
bought when you first got the program. If it is shareware download it,
install it, and apply the registration key you bought.

ok thanks rock hey is there any way i can find out what site that i got it from by looking into a file .because i called the people up were i thought i got it and told them what happen and they said they couldnt find anything of mine.card numbers or emailaddress nothing . thanks again for explaining that to me

Well you can do a google search for the program name. That should give
you some idea. Also find the executable file, right click, choose
properties, then the version tab.
