Need help finding preference

I tripped over a pref one time that forced XP to do a parity check when writing data.
I just cannot remember where. It was in the OS somewhere...

Any help appreciated.

There is no such option under WinXP. There is a similar command-line switch,
see also Start > Run: HH ms-its:%SystemRoot%\help\ntcmds.chm::/verify.htm
