Need help emulating an excel report.

I am trying to emualte this report in Access : http://www.gts-labs.com/CHAIN.pdf

Primarily the middle section where I show which samples get which
tests is where I need the help.
It was made in Excel. The closest I can come to this in access is
with a Pivot table. But I am unable to rotate the column headings and
the pivot table is many pages wide. I am also unable to add other
heading fields in a Pivot Table.
As I have many available tests I thought it would be nice to filter
out only the tests requested.
I am looking for options on how to create this report even if it is in
a form. I need to be able to print to a 8.5x11 paper.

I have also tried creating a subreport with multiple columns and add
that to the details section along with the sample ID's. However it
prints the test name and I would like a "X" or check box there and all
the test names to be in the header above the details section.

Any suggestions?

I did something similar a few years ago. What I ended up doing was creating a
static report with all the lines and detail that never changes with lables
lines etc. Once that was done, I connected text boxes back to the appropreate
parameter query to bring in the data I needed.

There might be an eaiser way to do this but I did not find it, good luck.
