I have a tricky issue here. i went and installed the
latest nvidia drivers for my card and they obviously have
issues because when i restarted, upon getting to the
windows desktop, i received a crash message. there's
nothing i can do before the computer goes to a blue
screen with text and says "dumping physical memory" -
something from the error i think - and then it restarts.

now i've had issues before and normally windows would
just auto start in safe mode. but it doesnt. and F8
only gets me to a boot device selection screen. so i'm
stuck in a loop and need desperately to boot in safe mode
so i can roll back my video card drivers. please help if
you can.

If F8 is getting you to a boot device selection screen, it sounds like you have one of the motherboards that has that function built in (ECS K7S5A or PCChips M830LMR, for example), and you are just pressing F8 too soon. Wait until the BIOS display screen clears (the screen showing various information about hardware). After that point, pressing F8 will give you the Windows selection screen, allowing you to select Safe Mode, Last Know Good, etc. Last Know Good may be just what you need here.
