Hi, i really hope someone can help me. I have two computers, one works fine,
the older one I am having a problem with. On the older one with the problem I
am running Windows 98 SE as my OS with Internet Explorer 6 and a Lexmark Z12
color printer. Internet Explorer was working fine and then I downloaded and
installed updated drivers for the Lexmark printer. After that Internet
Explorer would not work right. It kept saying it had encountered an error and
needed to close and do I want to report the problem to Microsoft. I reported
it and Internet exlplorer just keeps restarting with the same error that it
needs to close. I thought perhaps the newer drivers I installed were the
problem so I uninstalled the printer but just my luck Internet Explorer still
would not work. Can anybody tell me how to fix my computer so I can get back
online. Any help would be appreciated.TIA

Hi Ray,
Try this:
When windows starting try to Tab F8 until you get the Boot up options,
select Safe with command prompt or command prompt and type this in the
command prompt:
scanreg /restore Hit [Enter] on your Keyboard and a window will pop-up and
till you select a .cab select the one before the new printer drivers
installed and wait for it to tell <restart> and Try to connect, does this
help?.
If it worked, try to make sure the system is clean from Malwares and Viruses
and run check disk (sfc.exe).
HTH.
