Need guidance on how to look for drivers in xp

Just installed xp home sp2 and for some reason cannot install modem driver
bcos of I/O error. In the DM, there are 'other devices'-Multimedia Audio
Controller, Media Controller, Multimedia Video Controller.

When this PCI card marked as" PixelView TM", with a chip of markings
"Conexant, Fusion 878A, 25878-13, E391523.1 ,0326 Taiwan" was taken out of
the pc, the DM will show Other Devices- "Multimedia Audio Controller' only
and the cd drom drive still will give I/O error.

Of course, I need to install the PixelView TM but how/where can I find the
drivers.
On the motherboard, it has PM266A Proand there is a chipset "VIA-VT8235,
0344CD Taiwan". Thanks you very much and how someone can assist

Get the FCC number off the board and input it here
https://www.part68.org/tte.cfm should give some clue to help you out.
 
Beside the pixelView card, there si teh words saying "tested to comply with
FCC ...." and located nearby have the following " PM266A PRO,03105B-1.1,
10823105B11 " I put this into teh link you have provided but nothing nil
result from the search.. Earlier I downloaded/install from driverguide
PV-M4800 FM.RC, but no luck. The DM still shoes missing drivers/controller
etc. Please assist as I undwerstand from the various posting here that we can
see when we boot but, I can cathc it as its too fast.
 
Just now I downloaded item# TV-BT878P-FM/RC, Model # PV-M4800 FM.RC and
install into the pc but the DM still have the nissing drivers. Guess must be
the wrong one.
 
should read as M4900. Can you help Uncle Joe, The picture seems to match the
physical part. Can it be the language part? Thanks.
 
You keep saying that you've downloaded them, which means the files are
somewhere on your computer now. But have you actually tried to install them?
Are you using the correct installation procedure for the modem you have?
 
Yes, its downloaded into my pc (my hd attached as a sec on my neighbour pc)
and I double click and it says starting to install into the pc, so it must be
installed,
 
Managed to sort them out now, at least there are no ? in DM, Many thanks for
all the help you have given
 
There's usually more to it than that. It really sounds like you haven't
managed to install the drivers.
