Does anyone have the fix for KB832762? The problem is:
Slow system performance or your computer stops responding
because of a memory leak in paged pool memory in Windows
2000 SP4

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;832762

Sounds like the problem I'm having. Ever since I
installed SP4, my performance has been 1/2 of what it was.
What I don't understand is this:
1. It's a problem originating from Microsoft.
2. It happens after installing SP4
3. MS acknowledges that it's a problem.
4. So why isn't the fix posted instead of having to pay
for support in order to fix it?

Does anyone have this fix? Thanks in advance.

Marc R,

Doesn't it take a long time to get through?
I have never called since the days I had to wait one 3/4 hours on long distance to
talk to someone that didn't know beans sometime.

It's hard to say whether there will be a wait when you call or not. You can
always submit an online request instead of calling on the phone. See

I called to get this hotfix, I was
on the phone a total of three minutes.

Was not placed on hold at all.

I told them I was experiencing the symptoms
outlined in the KB, they sent me a link to the hotfix
while I was still on the phone with them...
