need expert advice from an mvp!

Hi,

You can't merge them. You can delete one or the other and remove the boot
reference. Choose one, boot it. Delete the system folders for the other from
Windows Explorer. Start/run msconfig, go to the boot.ini tab and click
"check all boot paths", it should offer to remove the one that is no longer
valid.

due to my stupidity and an oem recovery disk, i have 2 winxp home installed.
one [window] is 1.1 gig, but the boot one [windowxp] is 436 meg. how can i
merge them into a default windows os? windowxp has all updates installed.
help! steve

hi rick! i had misread the links, so i just deleted the small one. how do i
remove the multiple os boot page? i edited boot.ini to remove the 2 false
os, should i change the default os line to window from windows? steve

Which you use depends on where the system is currently installed. This is
why the "check all boot paths" button is so handy.
