Need correct keystroke

I am using Word 2003 and cannot find the correct keystroke for the french accented 'e'.

I have been typing the word with another symbol that works, but it is reversed and then I correct all the affected words in the Spell Checking function, so I know the accent is available, I just have been unable to locate it.

Any help would be appreciated.

The French use three types of accent on E

ctrl+' release then e = é

ctrl+^ release then e = ê (don't forget the shift key if required on your
kb layout for ^)

ctrl + ` release then e = è

And note that the same shortcuts work for accented capital E, just shift
when typing the e after pressing the setup keys. For more, see
